Victor Manuel Gerena Jr.
Victor is a major thief. On September 12, 1983, he stole $7.2 from from the Wells Fargo depot in West Hartford. That's more cash than anyone has ever stole in American history. According to law enforcement authorities, he dropped his girlfriend off at Hartford City Hall where she was to get a marriage license for the couple. After that, he drove the Wells Fargo building, where he worked. He asked is super visor if he could park by bay 5 which was closer to a door. He said it was his friends car and he didn't want it to get damaged, so his supervisor approved.
He, his partner, and their supervisor were the only ones in the terminal. He held them at gunpoint, duct aped their mouths, handcuffed them and then injected a mysterious substance in them which was supposed to make them unable to move. He then put the seven million dollars from the van into his car and drove off. Hours later, his supervisor and partner managed to escape. They then told the authorities and the search for him began.
8 hours went by and they found his car without him or the money in it. Soon, authorities discovered that he was part of the Puerto Rican terrorist group named "Los Macheteros" that wanted independence for Puerto Rico. With all of the money received from the robbery, the group bought a surface-to-air missile. On October 30, 1983, they launched it at the FBI headquarters in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Luckily, little damage was done and nobody was injured. Some of Gerena's co-inspirators were arrested. It is believed that he is hiding in Cuba or in the United States again.
